In February 2026, HelEx’s Work Package 1.3 was presented at the Carrefour de la Sélection Tournesol, a major meeting point for French sunflower breeders. This Carrefour is the reference venue where HelEx shares progress on the genetic approach with the sector in a structured and recurring way.
Nicolas Langlade (INRAE) presented the methodology, current state and perspectives of Work Package 1.3, including the integration of wild genetic resources into breeding material, the use of genomic prediction and the first results of multi-environment trials.
Reaching breeders through the Carrefour ensures that HelEx’s genetic work is not only scientifically solid but also aligned with the practical concerns of sunflower selection in France and Europe, which is essential for the adoption of new varieties.
