A new step forward in biodiversity research<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Last week, the sunflower biodiversity field experiment<\/strong> for Work Package 3 (WP3)<\/strong> of the HelEx project<\/a> was officially launched in Quedlinburg<\/strong>, with the support of JKI Quedlinburg<\/strong> and JKI Braunschweig<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Led by Vid and his team<\/strong>, this field trial focuses on comparing different sunflower varieties<\/strong> to assess their impact on biodiversity<\/strong>. The experiment is designed to better understand how genetic variation among sunflowers can influence pollinator activity<\/strong>, ecosystem services<\/strong>, and overall agroecological resilience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why biodiversity matters in agriculture<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Boosting biodiversity in farming systems is key to building sustainable agriculture<\/strong>. By studying the interactions between sunflowers and their environment, the HelEx project aims to promote crop improvement strategies that support both ecological balance<\/strong> and long-term productivity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
