Heliaphen platform poster at the Seleopro Carrefour Tournesol

In March 2026, HelEx presented a poster on the Heliaphen high-throughput phenotyping platform at the Seleopro Carrefour Tournesol. Heliaphen, operated by INRAE in Toulouse, is one of the most advanced sunflower phenotyping facilities in Europe and a central infrastructure for HelEx experiments.

N. Blanchet (INRAE) led the poster presentation, explaining how Heliaphen is used within HelEx to characterise sunflower genotypes for drought tolerance, water-use efficiency and root traits linked to climate resilience. The poster allowed for in-depth technical exchanges with breeders and researchers attending the event.

For HelEx, showcasing Heliaphen at an industry-focused venue highlights the direct value of advanced phenotyping for sunflower breeding. It strengthens the link between HelEx’s scientific infrastructure and the operational needs of seed companies developing the next generation of varieties.
