HelEx at the RESAPI webinar on nectar production in oilseed rape

In March 2026, HelEx contributed to a RESAPI webinar on the nectar production of oilseed rape, a topic tightly connected to HelEx’s broader work on pollinator-friendly cropping systems. RESAPI is a French network supporting beekeeping and apicultural research, and its webinars reach beekeepers, scientists and national technical institutes.

Stan Chabert (INRAE) shared insights from HelEx on how floral resources, including nectar, influence pollinator activity and pollination outcomes. Although the focus was on oilseed rape, much of the discussion applied directly to sunflower, and the webinar offered an opportunity to link the two major French pollinator-dependent crops.

For HelEx, connecting with the beekeeping community through RESAPI is a way to show that the project’s science on floral resources has practical value for both breeders and apiculture professionals, reinforcing the bridges between field agronomy, apicultural realities and public policy.
