HelEx at the UNAF webinar on connected hives

In March 2026, HelEx took part in a UNAF webinar on connected hives and digital monitoring in beekeeping. UNAF is the French national beekeepers’ union and regularly organises online events to reach a broad audience of beekeepers, hobbyists and citizens interested in pollinator protection.

Stan Chabert (INRAE) represented HelEx and shared how science on sunflower floral resources and pollination can connect with the type of data generated by connected hives. The discussion showed how HelEx research and new digital tools used by beekeepers can reinforce each other in building a better picture of pollinator activity in agricultural landscapes.

Reaching civil society through a webinar like this one is important for HelEx because public engagement and beekeeper awareness are essential to the long-term success of pollinator-friendly agriculture in Europe.
