In January 2026, HelEx joined the 9th European Sunflower Biotechnology Conference, the reference European event for researchers and companies active in sunflower biotechnology, genetics and breeding. The conference gathers a large part of the public and private research community dedicated to sunflower improvement.
Dragana Miladinović (IFVCNS, Serbia) presented HelEx activities with a strong focus on regeneration, transformation and genetic tools for sunflower, topics at the core of the project’s Work Package on biotechnology. The talk also referenced the recent HelEx publication on sunflower regeneration recently released in IJMS.
Presenting at the European Sunflower Biotechnology Conference gives HelEx direct visibility in the community that will ultimately use and extend its biotechnological outputs. It also ensures that HelEx results are benchmarked against the state of the art in European sunflower research.
