In May 2025, HelEx took part in a Biotech Workshop held in Brussels, co-organised by the European Commission (DG RTD and REA). This high-level event gathered 13 Horizon Europe projects to discuss upcoming EU policies on biotechnology, life sciences, bioeconomy and the next Horizon Europe programming cycle.
Nicolas Langlade (INRAE), coordinator of HelEx, contributed to the discussions on regulatory bottlenecks, technical gaps and the need to integrate life sciences, agronomy and digital tools to accelerate innovation. The workshop also helped bridge HelEx with other EU projects working on complementary topics.
Participating in such a policy-oriented event is a direct way for HelEx to turn its research into inputs for the Biotechnology Act, the EU Life Sciences Strategy and the Bioeconomy Strategy, reinforcing the link between research and EU-level decision-making.
