In February 2026, HelEx joined a meeting of the Syndicat d’Apiculture Méridional in the Haute-Garonne department (31), a local beekeeping organisation representing professionals and amateurs in one of France’s major sunflower-growing regions.
Stan Chabert (INRAE) presented HelEx work on sunflower nectar secretion, including how varietal choice and environmental conditions influence nectar availability for bees. The presentation was tailored to a beekeeper audience, with concrete implications for honey flows and pollination services.
Engaging with local authorities and beekeeping associations is part of HelEx’s dissemination strategy, because these communities are critical relays between scientific results and day-to-day farming and beekeeping practices.
