In March 2026, HelEx joined a PRADE webinar on bee pollination and its effects on sunflower yield. PRADE is a French coordination initiative on pollination and apiculture, and its webinars are followed by technical institutes, cooperatives and public authorities.
Stan Chabert (INRAE) presented HelEx work on the relationship between pollinator visitation, flower density and yield, with a focus on what is known and what remains uncertain. The discussion drew on the broader literature and on the recent HelEx commentary in Functional Ecology.
Contributing to this webinar helps HelEx clarify for decision-makers and technical experts the conditions under which pollinators do, or do not, limit sunflower yield. This nuance is important when designing eco-schemes, agri-environment measures and advice to farmers.
