In January 2026, HelEx was presented at the annual field days of the Argentinian sunflower breeding community. Argentina is one of the world’s major sunflower producers, and its breeding community has a long tradition of collaboration with European teams.
Nicolas Langlade (INRAE) shared HelEx’s scientific strategy and first results with Argentinian breeders and researchers, illustrating how the project’s tools and genetic resources could complement ongoing work in South America. The discussion touched on genetic diversity, phenotyping, pollinators and the challenges posed by climate variability.
